Sue feels deeply indebted to the people and places of Tynedale for her inspiration. With a college friend, Tess Cosslett, she has published two poetry anthologies – Angels of the North and Installations (available from [email protected]).
Sue has also written several plays for schools and drama groups: White Poppies, about an underage WW1 soldier wrongly accused of desertion, has just been published by Heinemann . In Holland Stands a House (published by Collins in 1991) is about Anne Frank and has been performed worldwide. A third, Local Heroes, is a dramatisation of world myths and is published by Nelson Thornes.
Her current project is a studio play for the centenary celebrations in 2011 of The Peoples' Theatre in Newcastle and is to be based on the life of Dorothy Wordsworth.
